Architecture in Samaná and Las Terrenas

Residences, hospitality and low-impact developments on a peninsula of steep topography, dense vegetation and exposed coast. GARPER works from Santo Domingo and coordinates projects in the region.

A territory that asks you to read the slope

Many sites in Samaná and Las Terrenas combine slopes, sea views and valuable vegetation. Stepped volumes, limited earthworks and early drainage design protect both the landscape and the budget.

Coastal climate: rain, salt and ventilation

The peninsula receives frequent rain and salt air. Well-pitched roofs, eaves, corrosion-resistant materials and cross-ventilation are baseline decisions, not finishes. These general criteria do not replace site-specific technical studies.

Hospitality and residence

Rental villas, small hotels and private residences share challenges of site access and material logistics here. Planning phases and supplies is part of the design.
