GARPER ARCHITECTS

How to choose an architect in Punta Cana

A neutral framework to compare studios: relevant work, scope, technical coordination, communication and references.

Relevant, verifiable work

Ask to see projects similar to yours in scale and type, and distinguish between built work, work in progress and visualisation. A good studio will tell you clearly which is which.

Scope in writing

Compare proposals by what they include: schematic design, construction drawings, engineering coordination, interiors, permit support, technical direction or supervision. Two fees are only comparable when they cover the same scope.

Technical coordination and local context

Ask how structure, MEP and landscaping are coordinated, and how climate, salt, site access and community or resort rules are handled. These answers say more than images.

Communication and references

If you live abroad, agree on language, reporting frequency, site visits and who decides what. Ask to speak with previous clients where possible and review the studio’s public profiles.

If you want to compare with GARPER, the Concierge summarises your project and suggests a service path.
